Artist's Comments

This wasn't intended as a digial manipulation photo, henceforth its location in Fashion photography. Forgot how I used to get to the glamour category, so I put it here.

Shot was done in studio then I looked for street alley in a high res stock photography site and found this nice, rugged shot done in the streets of Venice. Played around in photoshop a bit and this was the end result.

Hope you enjoy :-)

Model: Sebastian
Makeup artist: Maryam Bahrami
Location: studio (Venice superimposed)

...Wow, he is //HOTT//. Great pic, too. I like how you made it look antiqued. Great lighting, and I love the sharpness of the lines. Awesome.

I love the photo... you did a great job of making him massive against his surroundings... Making him more powerful than his amazing body suggests. Great composition. Way to be...

also how did you blend the model so well with the background with photoshop?

lighting and color are the most important 2 elements. That and the selection you make around the model needs to be very very tight. Never use "no feather". I always feather around 1-2 pixels. Works best for realism. I chose a color that would make the tint nice and then desaturated and colorized both images. Glad you like it :-)

LMAO! Trust me, you don't wanna go on this guy's diet. We went to Walmart on the way back from the shoot and he was getting like all these low carb bars, he barely eats it seems! That and he's obviously @ the gym a lot (doesn't liiiive there like some models though! He markets himself for the more "lean" market, not "beefy" etc.)

Wanted to keep the focus on him, not the surroundings. It was a visually busy background. But thanks for the critique!
